Logan
Hi, I’m Logan, Cedric’s artist. This sprint I have been working on creating Cedric’s 3D model.

I used the zbrush base mesh and started building clothes on top.

My final high poly sculpt in zbrush.

I then brought my model into maya and did the retopology.

I then UV unwrapped my model in UV groups.

Texturing and baking in substance painter. I had a few issues with the bake so I had to go back and forth between maya and substance until I was satisfied with the quality.


I put the textured model into Unreal to test, there were a few issues with meshes showing through each other, opacity maps breaking the mesh or just not working. So I then went between maya, substance and Unreal until I was happy.

Next I will be working on hair, rigging and animations.

Heyyyy, if you remember me I'm the Lead Game Designer who's been working on the level design (which is all done and decorated now!!!) and the UI. For the UI I have went for a paper-based look, things like book spreads and pages so it feels diegetic and tied into the medieval alchemy lab world.


I tried to reflect the character's personality within their space. I flourished Hypatia's space with plants and flowers. And Cedric with unorganised books and bones (where did he get them?)

This is an example of a refinement poster to communicate to the player that they can turn the hellebore flower into granules using the mortar and pestle.

These are the recipe pages for each of the minions (the witch isn't completed yet). In the negative space the ingredients will appear once you discover the recipe.

You can see even on the pause menu I'm making any excuse to add doodles that hopefully makes the world feel more full. On the right page is some of T.Wilson's (our narrative designers) lore for the alchemical tower, definitely give it a read! Now it's all about finishing them up for every minion/item required and implementing them in the game.
Luke - Programmer
As the programmer for the team, my job has been to polish the core systems of the game and implement them into the main level. The core gameplay loop is now in place. Next, I will be finishing up the AI for the villagers and the minions and start adding the character models as the artists finish their models and get them rigged, ready for the animations.




Dora - 3D artist for Hypatia
Hypatia’s progress so far: I started by modelling the base mesh in ZBrush and then modelled the clothes by masking and expanding layers of the body. I added some photos to show you that progress. After I got the final model done in ZBrush, I moved on to retopology in Maya for the body and the clothes. The next step in my process was texturing. Currently I’m working on the eyes and will start shortly on the hair too.
